The Medifast Diet Program Works
(New York, New York )
About a year and a half ago, I decided to give the Medifast weight loss program a try. My mother had used it to successfully lose weight, and I wanted the same results.
At the time Medifast had a special going on, so I immediately ordered a month's worth of food. At first it seemed really expensive, but I realized that it was probably about the same amount as my monthly food bills.
It didn't take long for the package to arrive. I absolutely loved the Medifast shakes. I bought the French vanilla and strawberry shakes. I'm not a fan of chocolate, so those weren't included in my order.
My package also included some bars, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, soups, iced tea and the fruit drinks. I liked the scrambled eggs, the oatmeal and some of the bars. The soups tasted great the first couple of times, but after a while I started getting a strange aftertaste in my mouth. I despised the fruit drinks, they were horrible.
I liked the Medifast meal variety. When my mother did her Medifast diet, the shakes were the only products available. I'm glad that now we have so many choices. Also, Medifast has a fantastic forum. If you get tired of the taste of the food, you can get recipes on the forum. Some of the recipes were delicious.
I stayed on the Medifast weight loss program for two weeks, until the day I woke up covered with a nasty rash. I panicked, I thought I was dying. I rushed to the emergency room, and found out that it was an allergic reaction. I had developed a soy allergy. And unfortunately soy is one of the main ingredients in the Medifast meals. I had to give the rest of it away.
In those two weeks, the Medifast diet did work. I lost about 10 pounds. So Medifast is a great diet program, unless you are allergic to soy.
